Our class uses a program called Everfi which focuses on Financial Literacy. Students have an opportunity to enter a contest where the first place winner will receive $529 towards a Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan and a prize pack. Click the link to get more information on this. Just know that all entries must be turned in by TOMORROW AFTERNOON. If you want to have your child type their response in class that is completely fine. We will work more with this tomorrow. So sorry this is short notice. I received information that not many people have entered the contest and my class will have a great chance at winning if they enter.

Tomorrow...
Good afternoon families,
Tomorrow we will do MAP Reading testing. Please make sure your child goes to bed on time and wakes up on time. Also make sure they have a healthy breakfast. We want those brains to be alert and focused when they take this test. Please remember that this test is not timed and we want all students to do their personal best. We have set goals of strategies for both tests. Please ask your child about the goal setting sheet and sign it. They need to bring this back tomorrow!!!
These students have worked hard all year so I didnt send any homework. They will not have homework tomorrow night either. The only assignment they MUST do tonight is find a motivating quote that will help them stay focused for success. They must have it written down because they will write this on their paper before testing.
Enjoy the rest of your evening. Also, I have not forgotten about the newsletter. I will send that home Wednesday.

Tomorrow will be our class picture day. Please have your child wear their school uniform. Pictures are 10.00. You can send payments in tomorrow. Make checks payable to Strawbridge Studios, Inc.
You may also order pictures online at www.strawbridge.net. Follow the online instructions and enter the following code when prompted: 101052
Also, we will be going to see Seussical as a school on Monday. If your child has not turned in a permission form, I will email you to remind you. I will send home another copy of the form tomorrow in family folders.

Tomorrow is a Half Day!
Just a reminder that tomorrow is a half day and interims will come home as well!
I'm still working on grades. I'm trying to get some of my friends who needed extra time on an assignment to get those completed before I input some of the grades.
Please make sure you have paid for the eLc trip to the Challenger Center. This field study will be MONDAY!!! I already have one confirmed chaperone. If you still would like to chaperone, please contact me as soon as possible. Please let have everything turned in to me by tomorrow!!!

We have already learned these multiplication facts, but some students may need extra support if these facts aren't automatic. These strategies may be more useful than counting on fingers.
We have been discussing identifying the setting in a story. We will also learn to identify the plot and how to sequence events in a story. Practice this at home with your child as they are doing their 30 minutes of reading.
I will send a blog tomorrow about our focus in Science and Social Studies.

Other Reminders/ Information
Valentine's Day is tomorrow. We will not have a party, however, your child can bring in items to give others for Valentine's Day at the end of the day. I have attached a link to the class list (only first names). Please make sure that if your child is bringing in something, that it is enough for 21 students. I have sent some cards home for students who want to make their own. Please remember NO CUPCAKES.
