Tomorrow

Good evening parents,

Our holiday party was a success.  The students left the class room full and happy.  I am so grateful for parents like you.

This is just a reminder that the performance will be tomorrow.  It begins at 10 am at Richland Northeast District Auditorium.  Third grade will be performing first so get there early.  We would love for you to come out to see what hard work your children have been doing.  Please make sure your child has on khaki bottoms.  This can be pants, shorts, skirts, capris, etc.  Here is the picture of the blue Civil Air Patrol shirts 3rd grade will be wearing:

Front                                                                                                       Back

At the request of Mrs. Powers, please do not have students wearing jackets, vests, or anything that you would like them to wear during the performance that will cover the blue shirts.  Also, girls do not need to wear large headbands because students will be wearing a colorful Santa hat.

Thank You & Reminders

Good afternoon,

First, I would like to say thank you for ALL that you do.  I apologize for not blogging in a while, however this has been a very, very busy 2 weeks.  I really appreciate all the donations that you have given towards the party.  If you haven't sent any monetary donations, it's okay because we have what we need for the party.  If you are sending things in (something sweet, salty, something to drink, or paper products) please have them in tomorrow as we will have our holiday party.

We will leave tomorrow morning around 9:15 to go over to the auditorium for practice.  ALL OF MY STUDENTS HAVE RETURNED PERMISSION FORMS, so everyone will have the opportunity to go.  To ensure that every child looks the same, please send in your child's BLUE CIVIL AIR PATROL shirt.  This is the shirt that we wear for field trips.

I will work on updating grades over break.  If you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to email me.

Again, thanks so much for your support and patience.  You are the best parents EVER!!!

Tonight's Homework 11/28

Welcome back families,

I hope the Thanksgiving Break was as festive for you as it was for me.  Today, I noticed academically active students who were ready to learn.  This made me feel so happy to know that we all came with the purpose to learn.  Reminder: Friday is Early Dismissal.  Expect to have your child's interim come home.  All grades for me will be updated no later than Wednesday.

Here is tonight's homework:
Reading: Work on Book Club assignment and read 20 min
(There will not be a Reading Log this week.  If you look at the grade book, several students have not turned in Reading Logs.  This will give your child the opportunity to work on the alternate assignment that will go home tomorrow.)

Math: Complete Lesson 18 and 19; Study 6's multiplication- Quiz Thursday
These two lessons may be difficult.  If your child does not understand it is okay.  Just have them do what they can in the meantime.  Here are some links to help and to practice these concepts:
Lesson 18: Break It Up: Number Bonds
Math Chat
Tower of Power

Lesson 19: Break It Up: Arrays
Math Chat
Tower of Power

Social Studies: Review Chapter 2: Native Americans- Open book and notes test on Thursday
Your child has been instructed that even though this is open notes and book, they need to at least read Chapter 2.  We have read most of this in class, but all information on the test is coming from both the book and the notes they took.  They can use the 20 minutes of reading time to read their Social Studies textbook.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.
